Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Body Practice a Bodyweight-Only Gym?

At Body Practice, we believe that self-mastery comes from continuously deepening our understanding of the brain, mind, and body connection. While traditional weight-based training can be valuable, it emphasizes moving an external object from point A to point B. By focusing on bodyweight training instead, we help you develop the skill of moving your own body effectively through space—a practice that fosters greater control, awareness, and personal empowerment.

Can I still gain the same benefits from Bodyweight Training as from Strength Training?

Absolutely! Your muscles, bones, and connective tissue respond to load in the same way, whether it comes from external weights or your own body. By selecting the right exercise progressions and adjusting variables like tempo, sets, and reps, you can continue to progress and achieve your goals using a bodyweight-only approach.

Do I have to buy a membership at Body Practice to take classes?

No, you don’t need to buy a membership to take a class at Body Practice! We offer flexible options to suit your needs, including drop-in classes, class packages, and membership plans. This way, you can explore what works best for you while trying us out. Whether you’re just stopping in or looking for a more regular commitment, we’ve got options to support your journey.

Can I take just one of the classes, or do I need to participate in all of them?

While we encourage every student to explore all our class offerings, it’s not mandatory. We aim to educate our students on the importance of variability in training and hope they’ll embrace the Body Practice philosophy: “Be Fluid, Be Still, Be Strong.” Participating in each class can help you fully embody this philosophy, but you’re welcome to choose the classes that best fit your goals and interests.

What types of yoga classes do you offer?

We offer a variety of yoga classes, including Power Vinyasa for strength and focus, Vinyin Yoga for a relaxed flow and deeper stretches, and Yin/Restorative Yoga for stillness and relaxation. Each class supports your bodyweight training journey, whether you’re looking to build strength, improve mobility, or find calm.

Are the yoga classes heated?

No, all of our yoga classes are non-heated. We focus on building warmth naturally through breath and movement.

I’m new to yoga. Are your classes suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! Our yoga classes are accessible to all levels, including beginners. Our instructors provide guidance and modifications to help you feel comfortable, whether you’re new to yoga or refining your practice.
